RUSSELL
GOLFER, PAINTER, TEACHER.
My work is attempting to capture that memory that every golfer has of a hole, a shot, or a moment in time.
I earned my BS in Art Education from Kutztown University in 1994 and later pursued an MFA in Painting at the University of the Arts in 2000. Since 1994, I have been dedicated to nurturing artistic talents as an Art Teacher at Lower Merion High School. In 2004, I assumed the role of Department Chair.
My journey extends beyond the canvas, as I share my life in Ardmore, PA, with my wife Stacey and our loyal companion, Gini. Our family includes two wonderful children; my son Jason serves in the US Army infantry, stationed in Colorado Springs, while my daughter Kiernan resides and works in London, UK.
Looking towards the future, my wife and I dream of retiring to our favorite place on the planet – North Berwick, Scotland. This coastal town, nestled between the North Sea and Firth of Forth, holds a special place in our hearts. As a proud member of the Glen Golf Club, playing out of the East Links at North Berwick, I find inspiration in the breathtaking linksland of East Lothian.
My artistic endeavors revolve around capturing the essence of the golfing experience, particularly the memories formed on the picturesque East Lothian courses. The landscapes of North Berwick serve as an endless muse, fueling my passion for creating art that encapsulates the joy and beauty found in the game.
Join me on this creative journey as I strive to convey the unique and cherished moments that golfers encounter, with a focus on the unparalleled scenery of East Lothian's linksland. Welcome to my world, where art and golf intersect to tell a story beyond words.
ANDREW
Adventure/Outdoor Educator, Potter
My work attempts to create functional ceramic pieces for your home.
I fell in love with working with clay in high school, I remember spending all of my free time in the ceramics classroom, I was enthralled with clay. After high school I attended Slippery Rock University and studied Adventure Education and Leadership and have been fortunate to work professionally in the adventure education field since 1999. Sadly I did not work with clay for 20 years. In my current position working in a university setting I am fortunate to work with (employ) wonderful student employees. During the hiring and mentoring process we often have conversations related to our “Dream Jobs". I typically ask students “what is their dream job?” - not necessarily their logical choice - but rather their true dream job, it’s always fun to hear their answers. They of course are typical curious about what my dream job is - my go to answer has always been to have my own pottery studio. So in 2020 with the support of my wife and family I converted our shed in the backyard into pottery studio and made the dream a reality.
I am a self taught potter (outside of my high school classes) who is fortunate to have some wonderful friends who are very talented ceramic artists that help guide me in the right direction.
I enjoy all types of ceramic art and love exploring a variety of techniques.
